Dust 2 re-enters the active duty map pool

IEM Dallas switches to new map pool

BetBoom Dacha Belgrade to follow suite

In a surprising move with a recent update, Valve took Overpass out of the active duty map pool, reintroducing Dust 2. Casuals and pros alike had mixed opinions regarding the change but the ongoing events however stuck to the previous patch, playing with Overpass in the pool.

High tier events will embrace the change starting with BetBoom Dacha Belgrade in mid-May 2024, followed by a plethora of ESL events that follow such as IEM Dallas 2024, ESL Pro Tour, ESL Impact and ESEA leagues.

Fact box

This is the first time that a de_dust2 iteration without skybox clippings will be featured competitively, opining up an ocean of possibilities in terms of utility usage.

Featuring the likes of Spirit, MOUZ, Virtus.pro and Heroic among other big names, BetBoom Dacha Belgrade will set the tone for Dust 2's arrival in the competitive space and whether the Counter-Strike classic will fare out to follow the decades-long gameplay structure or introduce a revolutionary meta is something to look forward to.
