
AMD GameOn Group Stage wraps up with four teams securing their LAN spots
AMD GameOn held a total of six games during their group stage between today and yesterday. SpawN's team Eagle Gaming, and Frag Theory secured crucial wins, beating Firedup Gaming and Old Man Gang respectively. With these games, the Group Stage has now concluded, and Wicked Gaming, Arise, Firedup Gaming, and Frag Theory have successfully qualified for the LAN event.
Here is a recap for the games that took place on these two days:
24th October
Old Man Gang vs Frag Theory
Old Man Gang faced Frag Theory on Nuke, where Frag Theory kept Old Man Gang struggling for round wins. Starting first on the T-side, Frag Theory managed to find a 7-5 lead at halftime, and then conceded only two rounds to lock in a 13-7 win.
Eagle Gaming vs Arise
The next brawl took place between Eagle Gaming and Arise on Inferno. The game started with Arise on the T-side, and Eagle Gaming on the CT-side, with both teams trading rounds early on. However, after capitalising in the first half to find a 7-5 lead, Arise shifted gears on their CT-side to secure a 13-8 win.
25th October
Old Man Gang vs Wicked Gaming
Old Man Gang forfeited their match.
Arise vs Dsd Gaming
Both teams forfeited the game
Wasted Potential vs Frag Theory
In today's matchup against Wasted Potential, Frag Theory came out on top in convincing fashion. It was a one-man show from elementx, who racked up 24 frags to take his team to a 13-3 victory on Ancient.
Eagle Gaming vs Firedup Gaming
The second game took us to Dust2, where Eagle Gaming took on Firedup Gaming. Eagle Gaming got off to a slow T-side start for Eagle Gaming, as the scores were tied at 3-3. As the game went on, SpawN took matters into his own hand, collecting 26 frags to take his team across the finish line by a 13-7 margin.
The teams that have locked in their spot at the LAN for the tournament are Wicked Gaming, Arise, Firedup Gaming and Frag Theory.
