Who is the Counter-Strike GOAT? Pros give their take

With the ongoing StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, the tournament organiser, StarLadder, shared an interesting piece of content on their social media platforms, where they asked the players participating in the Major who they thought the all-time Counter-Strike GOAT(greatest of all time) was.

s1mple was obviously the common choice with most pros choosing the former Natus Vincere (NAVI) star as the greatest but ZywOo also got a few shoutouts as did the Brazilian icon FalleN. Amongst a couple of surprise picks, PARIVISION's coach dastan was given a shoutout by his captain Jame while MAJ3R and Jee named donk and m0NESY as their best.

In the end, s1mple got 23 votes and was head and shoulders above the next best, which was ZywOo who had received five votes. The Ukrainian star is currently playing for BC.GAME after making his return to full-time competitive Counter-Strike a couple of months ago. ZywOo meanwhile, who had a storied rivalry with s1mple towards the end of CS:GO, has added to his trophy cabinet, having won two Majors, the Intel Grand Slam twice and will be shortly seen in action at Stage 3 of StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 with Vitality.
