ECL S52 to replace Overpass with Cahce

After organizers like BLAST and Perfect World confirmed their map pool change, ESL took to X yesterday announcing the same. "Following an update from Valve, the official map pool for CS will change for season 5", said ESL before confirming that de_cache would replace de_overpass in Season 5 of the ESL Pro Tour.

The change will come into effect first at ESL Challenger League Season 52. The circuit starts with regional cups in Europe on 12th July 2026 and the Asian side of things kick off towards the end of August. Asia and Oceania will have four tournaments each to determine eight Regional Final candidates who battle it out for an ESL Pro League slot.

ESL Pro League Season 24 in October and IEM Beijing in November are ESL's only notable events remaining this year. The prominent tournament organizer brought Counter-Strike's biggest and most important tournament back to Cologne's cathedral earlier this year where Falcons lifted their first Major trophy, ending NiKo's Major draught.
