Many are criticizing G2 for tying up with Roll, but can you even blame them?
From what I have heard, CS:GO is probably the most expensive esports scene for orgs. It requires massive amount of money to run compared to other esports scene where it's alot easier.
It's the entire scene, simply because of global economic slowdown.
Very few orgs were actually profitable in the first place, ran solely from investor money. Salaries had inflated, and they haven't deflated a lot, even after slowdown. Heroic isn't a massive org. They need to pay a lot to maintain a Top 3 team without it falling apart (other teams buying their players).
HEET is also a very small org, they need stickers to sustain a team, not qualifying for Major means they neither have a big fund pool, nor are profitable from other means, so they had to drop them. Exactly the same for CPHF, they needed stickers.

It's due to an ongoing global phenomenon called eSports winter.
