Mixed results for TheMongolz on the opening day of Atlanta

On the opening day of ESL Challenger Atlanta 2023, the Group A opening match saw the Asian representatives in TheMongolz go up against Complexity in their BO1 matchup.

TheMongolz started with a 5-0 lead on the T side after taking the opening pistol before Complexity strung 5 in a row of their own. TheMongolz though ended the opening half with a 7-5 lead.

The Mongolian squad made it two out-of-two pistol secure their CT sided pistol as well before Complexity on the back of an EliGE super show almost pulled it off, going on to take a 12-8 lead. TheMongolz hung on the take the match to overtime and in overtime they closed it out at 16-14 to hand Complexity a shock defeat.

After taking down Complexity, TheMongolz face Apeks in the Group A winners' match and in another BO1, the battleground was Anubis.

It was Apeks this time starting with a 5-0 lead but TheMongolz pulled it back to a 6-6 half, ending the half with five-in-a-row. On their T side though, Apeks were untouchable as a flawless half saw them secure the match 13-6.
