Rough start for The Mongolz
The inaugural CS2 Major, the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 kicked off with Asia’s best - TheMongolz taking on Eternal Fire.
Nuke was the battleground for the opening BO1 with TheMongolz starting on the T side with the pistol. Eternal Fire were on the board quickly and a strong CT side saw the Turkish side take an 9-3 lead. It was a lopsided affair in the second half as well as Eternal Fire eased to a 13-6 win.

The other game in the opening round saw Cloud9 face ECSTATIC. The other game of the opening round had Cloud9 take on ECSTATIC with Cloud9 starting with a hot T side on Ancient with a 5-0 lead. The Danes pulled it back to a 7-5 half to keep the match even. ECSTATIC fought back brilliantly and it looked like they would steal the map away from Cloud9 but the Russian squad held on for a 13-10 win.
