Cloud9 knock out Wildcard
Cloud9 met Wildcard in group B's lower bracket of IEM Chengdu 2024 and starting off on the CT-side of Mirage, Cloud9 landed a massive 11-1 lead in the first half with H0bbit and Boombl4 holding HLTV ratings of 1.88 and 1.71.
Cloud9 kept it clean and closed out Mirage 13-1, with not a single individual from Wildcard reaching double figures. With the 0-1 deficit, Wildcard were now just a single map loss away from crashing out of IEM Chengdu 2024.
Cloud9's 4-0 start on the CT-side of Overpass was met with resistance from Wildcard, closing the gap at 4-4. Unfortunately for Wildcard, they could secure just a single thereafter, as Cloud9 switched up their approach, restricting Wildcard to a 5-7 half and then closing out the map 13-5.
Cloud9 will lock horns with either FaZe or Astralis in the lower-bracket semi-finals, meanwhile Wildcard end their IEM Chengdu 2024 campaign with devastating losses against Virtus.pro and Cloud9.
