IEM Chengdu winners FaZe end the second-place curse

The Grand Final of IEM Chengdu 2024 between FaZe and Mouz kicked off on Mouz's pick of Overpass. The scores initially read 3-0 in the favour of FaZe but were soon tied up as Mouz found the equalizer. However, in the following rounds, Mouz's struggle to find openings limited them to a 4-8 T-half. A 3-0 start on their T-side propelled FaZe further toward victory, and after overcoming some resistance, they were able to seal the map with a 13-10 scoreline.

Next up was FaZe's pick of Nuke, where the young guns of Mouz were made to realize the difference in potency on the map. Starting on the T-side, FaZe led the charge to secure 8 rounds on their T-side. Winning the pistol extended their lead to 10-4, as Mouz was unable to give a similar answer. As a result, FaZe ultimately won the map 13-6, ending their second-place curse after 4 events.
