Brazil advances to ESL Challenger Final after 13-0

Solid comeback from MIBR

The semi-finals of ESL Melbourne got underway with a matchup between Apeks and MIBR. Kicking off with the T-side on their own map pick Ancient, Apeks mustered up 4 rounds in the half. The narrative changed quickly when the sides switched, as Apeks went on an 8 round streak to reach matchpoint, then closed out the map with a 13-9 win.

Moving onto the second map Nuke, Apeks showcased a resilient CT-side. With jkaem and nawwk doing the bulk of the work, Apeks registered a 9-3 half. Winning the pistol and the force buy put Apeks in prime position to close out the game, as the score reached 11-3. Against all odds, MIBR tied the scores in regulation, and went flawless in OT to clinch a 16-12 win.

The final map Anubis saw a completely reformed T-side from MIBR. exit and brnz4n topped the charts as they kicked off the map with a flawless 12-0 half. The second half pistol saw the conclusion to the game, as MIBR closed out the series in fashion with the 13-0 win.
