Liquid, HEROIC start EPL S19 campaign with wins
While Bad News Kangaroos got their ESL Pro League Season 19 campaign off to a not so ideal start against defending champions MOUZ, we had four more games taking place on the opening day of the Group C and D games.
Two veteran leaders in gla1ve and Snax went up against each other as ENCE took on GamerLegion in the Group C upper bracket quarter-final. GamerLegion eased to a 13-6 win on ENCE's pick of Ancient it was a similar story on their pick of Overpass as well with sl3nd dropping 21 kills as GamerLegion made it two 13-6 wins to pick up a 2-0 series win.

Group D's opening game saw Complexity face PERA and the North American team started with a narrow 13-11 win on PERA's pick of Anubis thanks to strong performances from EliGE and Grim before picking up a 13-9 win on their own pick of Vertigo.

Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) took on old foes HEROIC in their campaign opener and while Vertigo was a back-and-forth series which saw HEROIC take a 19-16 win in second overtime, Nuke, the Danes' pick saw them go 13-8 with TeSeS stepping up for them to take a 2-0 series win.

The final game of the day saw Liquid take on FURIA, following the departure of arT with FURIA picking up surprise 13-9 win on Liquid's pick of Inferno to start the series. Liquid answered back to tie the series following a 13-7 win on Mirage before the series moved to Nuke for the decider. Nuke saw a much improved Liquid, as YEKINDAR powered them to a 13-9 win to take a 2-1 series win.
