Blaze Warriors outlast Fated Rise to avoid elimination
The Group B elimination match at ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2024 pitted Blaze Warriors against Fated Rise in a Bo3 that took place on Ancient, Mirage, and Inferno. While the home team Fated Rise were the favourites coming in, Vietnam's Blaze Warriors stunned everyone, bouncing back from a 1-13 loss to reverse sweep the series and fight on in China.
The first map Ancient, picked by Blaze Warriors, turned into a disaster for them, as they could only secure a single round on their T-side. By winning the pistol and the follow up round, Fated Rise called the curtains on the first map soon after by securing a 13-1 win.
Despite the setback on their own map pick, Blaze Warriors moved to the next map Mirage with valor. After a successful CT half, with the whole team showing up to notch a 9-3 lead, Blaze Warriors ensured a convincing win by a 13-6 scoreline.
The final map in play, delivered an intensely close game. Starting on the CT side, Blaze Warriors established a 7-5 lead first. They cruised to a 10-5 lead soon after, and while it looked over, Fated Rise pushed the game to Overtime. Despite their valiant efforts, Blaze Warriors ultimately closed out the game with a 16-12 scoreline with baby4k's AWP shutting down Fated Rise in the final round of overtime to make sure the Vietnamese team kept it clean in overtime.
