ESL Challenger League Season 49 Asia-Pacific Playoffs: Day 1 Recap
The ESL Challenger League Season 49 Asia-Pacific Playoffs kicked off with two upper bracket BO3s and two lower bracket BO3s getting the action underway. The likes of Rare Atom, Chinggis Warriors and The Huns were in action as they all look to make it to ESL Pro League Season 22.
Here's a quick look at the results from today's games.

Upper Bracket
The Huns 2 - 0
NomadS
The Huns took on NomadS in the all Mongolian clash in the upper bracket match which saw a nailbiter to kick off the series. A two round lead on their T side on Ancient and securing the second half pistol should've seen NomadS through but The Huns fought hard on their T side to steal a 13-11 win. On their pick of Inferno, a stellar T side led by cobra and xerolte helped The Huns pick up a 13-6 win to close the series in two maps.
Rare Atom 1 - 2
Chinggis Warriors
The blockbuster game of the day saw Rare Atom take on Chinggis Warriors and the Chinese team started in style, stomping the Mongolian team 13-4 on Ancient. Chinggis Warriors fought back with a strong T side on Ancient, that saw them tie up the series after a 13-11 win.
Dust2 was a lop-sided affair as after a back-and-forth opening half, a stellar defensive hold saw Chinggis Warriors reverse sweep the series 2-1 after a 13-5 win on the decider.

Lower Bracket
-72c vs
THE
-72c got an easy opening game in their lower bracket encounter as THE forfeited their match, which saw -72c proceed ahead while THE were eliminated.
FengDa 2 - 0
JustSwing
FengDa took on compatriots Just Swing in the Chinese derby in the lower bracket game which kicked off with a strong T side from Just Swing on their pick of Ancient. FengDa pushed it to overtime and cameback all the way from being 4-8 down to steal a 16-13 to get the series underway. On their own pick of Anubis, a strong T side from FengDa saw them turn around an opening half deficit to lock in a 13-9 win to seal the series 2-0.
Going down in the lower bracket meant that it was the end of the line for Just Swing while FengDa fight on for another, keeping themselves alive in the lower bracket.
