Official: Gods Reign part ways with Counter-Strike roster

Indian org's future in CS unknown

Indian esports organisation Gods Reign has officially announced that the organisation is parting ways with its CS2 roster, days after Dust2 India's report on the matter. The decision comes at a time when multiple players from the roster itself have been looking elsewhere to continue their career.

Gods Reign entered the Counter-Strike circuit in India for the Skyesports Masters 2023, the franchise league, where they beat seven other teams to win the Skyesports Masters 2023, annoucing themselves in the scene with style. Boasting of an experienced lineup including the likes of Crazy_Gamer, reV3nnnn, EmbeR and clouda, the team has since had players like f1redup, Bhavi, R2B2 don their jersey as well.

For the majority of their time in the Indian scene, Gods Reign remained on top of the Indian regional rankings and were representing India, internationally, at events such as the ESL Challenger League. With VRS rankings taking over, Gods Reign secured themselves multiple invites to various Asian events, taking on some of the bigger teams from Asia. After a stellar 2023, Gods Reign fell agonisingly close at the inaugural CS2 Major, PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Asia RMR Closed Qualifier, finishing 3rd. After a sloppy showing at BLAST's The Draft in Kuala Lumpur, Gods Reign won the Skyesports Masters 2024 India Closed Qualifier, to qualify for the main event, where they faced international teams like NIP and BIG. They won a couple of domestic online events but failed to win a LAN trophy in 2024 as they finished 2nd in the Shanghai Major 2024 Asia RMR Closed Qualifier, missing out on an RMR spot again towards the end of 2024.

Gods Reign won their first LAN in over a year, winning the Skyesports Souvenir National Championship 2025 and their VRS ranking helped them get an MRQ invite, where they managed to win one game against The Huns. The rosters' final outing together was at the Hero Esports Asian Champions League 2025 Closed Qualifier, where a woeful performance from Bhavi and co. saw them go down to unranked teams, finishing in 13th-16th place.

Sources close to Dust2 India have mentioned that Gods Reign will be stepping back from Counter-Strike for the moment, with no roadmap for the game present in the country at the moment. For the roster, Ph1NNN has already revealed that he is looking for international offers while Rossi has announced his retirement. That leaves the trio of Bhavi, R2B2 and f1redup, who will now be on the look for a new home.
