Vitality ties Astralis' historic S-Tier win streak record

A dominant performance against MOUZ sees Vitality put up yet another grand-final win at an S-tier event, their sixth in 2025. Preceding their 3-0 win against MOUZ in the grand-final Vitality did not drop a single game across the group stage and the playoffs, pushing their win streak tally to 30.

With their win at IEM Dallas 2025, Vitality have levelled the record for the highest consecutive S-tier event wins. The record was previously in Astralis' monopoly at six S-tier event wins back in 2018 and 2019. Vitality have been on a phenomenal run in 2025 so far. ropz's transfer from FaZe to Vitality have worked out wonders for the latter adding immense firepower beside ZywOo's stellar AWP. Picking up the slack after a XANTARES show sent them packing in BLAST Bounty 2025, Vitality have not dropped a single match so far in 2025, winning out every single event they've attended ever since.

Vitality took on Spirit in the grand-final of IEM Katowice 2025 and quickly silenced the donk vs ZywOo debate after a dominant 3-0 win. After taking down MOUZ in two more grand-finals at ESL Pro League Season 21 and BLAST Open Spring 2025, Vitality were met with a stern challenge at BLAST Rivals and IEM Melbourne. A new-look Falcons pushed Vitality to their limits but apEX and co. still pulled of narrow wins, keeping their streak going. 2. Astralis: 6 S-tier wins

2018-2019

At the peak of Astralis' dominance back in 2018 and 2019 the Danes had made second nature of their big event wins but their S-tier wins often came scattered, losing out on one or two before returning to winning ways. Astralis came into FACEIT London 2018 as the defending champions and successfully defended their status, recording back to back Major wins. This Major would also go on to count towards the famous Astralis hattrick Majors.

Astralis recorded big wins at IEM Chicago amd ESL Pro League, completing the Intel Grand Slam. Astralis is the only team in this list whose S-tier win streak includes two Majors, meaning which the Danes have put up championship wins across all S-tier wins they've attended between the two Majors.

3. Liquid: 5 S-tier event wins

2019

Liquid came into 2019 with something to prove. Despite being consistent playoff contenders, they had failed to lift a single S-tier trophy in 2018. A bitter memory still lingered from the FACEIT London 2018 Major where they went down in the semi-final to Astralis, and the North Americans were left chasing shadows. But halfway through 2019 they saw a change in mentality and firepower.

Their breakthrough came at IEM Sydney 2019, where Liquid’s EliGE began turning heads. Even after brief stumbles at B-tier events to Vitality and MIBR, they bounced back with a dominant stretch. Liquid dismantled their opposition at DreamHack Masters Dallas, powered through at ESL Pro League Season 9, and cemented their peak with a title at ESL One: Cologne 2019.

Their streak reached five with IEM Chicago 2019, and with it, Liquid completed the Intel Grand Slam Season in a record-setting 63 days. But their rise was matched only by the speed of their decline as the Liquid struggled to recapture their form thereafter.
