StarLadder announce MRQ info for Budapest Major

Through a blogpost, StarLadder has announced the details of the MRQs leading up to the StarLadder Budapest 2025 Major. The MRQs are set to take place online and the invites for these MRQs are set to go out based on October 2025's Valve Regional Standings update.

The Major Regional Qualifiers will take place between 16th and 19th October 2025 for which invites go out on 8th October 2025. "The MRQs will be held online, ensuring accessibility for all eligible teams, regardless of their region." says StarLadder in their blogpost but a worrying detail was spotted in StarLadder's list of participating regions.

Listing out the participating regions and sub-regions under them, StarLadder has mentioned West Asia, East Asia and China under Asia but has excluded Oceania hinting that Oceanic teams might have to bootcamp in Asia for an optimal Major Regional Qualifier experience.

Australian Counter-Strike caster and analyst Elfishguy took to X expressing his opinion on the same and questioning why StarLadder couldn't include Oceania to evenly divide the slots where four Asian slots are handed out to one team each from West Asia, China, East Asia and Oceania.
