New sub-region added to VRS

MENA added as a sub-region in Europe

Following the BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major's conclusion, Valve has added a new sub-region in the Valve Regional Standings. Middle East and North Africa (MENA) will now be a sub-region under Europe. Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocca and Tunisia now move into the European sub-region, these teams were previously considered under Africa.

Another significant change is Israel which was a part of the Asian region, will now be assigned under Europe, affecting teams like JijieHao, placing them in the European VRS. Liquid, who had an identity crisis earlier in the year addressed it before the change, moving under the European banner.

The community once again stands divided on this change, eager to see how it pans out towards the StarLadder Budapest 2025 Major. The Budapest Major will not host MRQs or RMRs but instead hand out direct invites across all three stages, through the VRS positions of teams in Global and Regional VRS.

These countries fall under the MENA sub-region:

Algeria
Libya
Tunisia
Azerbaijan
Cyprus
Iraq
Jordan
Lebanon
Qatar
Syria
Yemen

Egypt
Morocco
Armenia
Bahrain
Georgia
Israel
Kuwait
Oman
Saudi Arabia
UAE
