
ESL Pro League Season 22 - Asia Open Qualifier Day 1: Recap
The path to ESL Pro League Season 22 for the Asian teams kicked off with the Asian Open Qualifier as the teams from all over Asia got into the server to make their way through the Open Qualifier to the Closed Qualifier.
The opening day saw four rounds of action take place with multiple Indian teams and Indian players in action. Amongst the noteworthy Indian teams and players was FIREDUP Gaming and also former Gods Reign star Ph1NNN, who was playing with BnTeT for Alter Ego and also retired player Rossi.
Here's a quick look at the results from Day 1 of the ESL Pro League Season 22 Asian Open Qualifier.

Round 1
The opening round saw majority of the matches as byes while the Indian teams had a mixed outing with FIREDUP Gaming going through to the next round but Sm0k3r got eliminated. Ph1NNN's Alter Ego got a bye as did Rossi's Beyman Esports.

The third round saw the BO1 action continue as PokemoN's Legion picked up a big win while Ph1NNN and Alter Ego continued to dominate. Rossi's Beyman Esports' journey ended here as did The MongolZ's new academy project, who went down to Chinese squad UnsettledResent.

The final round of the day saw Ph1NNN and Alter Ego continue to march on while Ph1NNN's former coach, PokemoN's journey at the Open Qualifier ended in Round 4 at the hands of HOTU.

The action will continue tomorrow with Round 5 (quarter-finals), Round 6 (semi-finals) and the Grand Final schedule and the format will switch to BO3s after seeing BO1s take place on the opening day. The top 4 teams from the Open Qualifier will make it to the Closed Qualifier, which will take place between July 11 - July 14, 2025.
The Closed Qualifier will have 20 teams with the winner making their way to ESL Pro League Season 22.
