Big changes coming to BLAST Bounty Season 2

BLAST has announced several changes to the next iteration of BLAST Bounty. The inaugural edition of BLAST Bounty took place in the beginning of 2025, with donk powering Spirit through to a title win. With a bumped up $500,000 USD prize pool, BLAST Bounty Season 2 is set to take place in the third week of August, in Malta.

According to BLAST's blogpost, the bounty system receives several alterations. The seeding now remains static, staying in sync with the initial derivation, preventing unfavorable matchups towards the middle or backend of a stage.

Wagering is now a part of the Bounty tournament, allowing teams to place wagers against their opponents. These wagers need not be equal and the amount will be initially suggested by the team with the lower seed. The final wager is decided upon a small discussion following the initial suggestion. A wager win goes straight into the team's banked prize money so far, instead of adding to the bounty.

In BLAST Bounty 2, teams earn a $2,500 bounty per match win. "This will allow teams to earn money early on for wagers, providing even greater incentive for teams to fight with everything they have for the biggest matches in the tournament.", says BLAST in their blogpost.

Change list as mentioned by BLAST:

• Seeding - Seeding will now remain as initially set at the beginning of the event. It won't change if an underdog team gets an upset victory.

• Wagering - Teams will be able to wager against each other from their banked prize money for the event. These wagers don't have to be equal, and the lower seeded team will suggest the wagered amount first.

• Wagered amount goes straight to the bank - The amount of money won from wagering during a match will be added straight to a team's banked prize money.

• Teams earn money for each win - Teams will earn money (up to $2500) from their bounty whenever they win a game. A team with less than $2500 bounty will earn their total bounty if they are to win a game.
