CS2 skin cap drops below $5 billion post 'Trade Protection' Update
CS2 skin cap drops over $200 million
The Trade Protection Update has become the harbinger of bad news for skin investors, as the Counter-Strike skin economy has gone down by over $200 million since the update.
The CS2 skin cap had been on a continuous surge recently, and had surpassed $5 billion twice to reach an all time high of $5.1 billion, according to statistics from Pricempire. But since the update, the skin cap has crashed down to $4.9 billion, reflecting a 5% loss in the last 24hrs.
The trade protected items update brought one of the most significant changes to the mechanics of skin trading, allowing users to revert all trades in the last 7-days. While it is intended to be a measure against scamming, it's shortcomings while cash trading are also substantial.
