The MongolZ fail to deliver the final blow once again
After their loss to Vitality at the Grand Final of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, it was more disappointment for The MongolZ in a BLAST event final as Asia's best team went down to Spirit in the grand final of the BLAST Premier Bounty 2025 Season 2. Despite having golden opportunities to punish Spirit, The MongolZ once again were unable to put up a dominant performance when needed most on the stage as they lost the BO5 final in three straight maps.
Picking up the pistol and conversion had Spirit set for a strong T side on their first pick of Nuke but Senzu led a strong defensive half that saw The MongolZ keep Spirit's lead to two. Spirit locked in both pistols and conversion and saw off a late comeback attempt from The MongolZ to take a 13-11 win on the opening map of the series. Techno and mzinho saw The MongolZ start their pick of Mirage by putting up a string of T rounds after losing the pistol and conversion once again and it was another bLitz 1v3 on Mirage to make sure The MongolZ take the lead at the half.
A scrappy second half from both teams saw Mirage head to overtime despite sh1ro's heroic 1v4 attempt in the final round of regulation. Spirit, though, kept it clean in overtime to go 2-0 up in the series by locking in Mirage at 16-13. While donk didn't have the best start to the final, especially by his standards, by Ancient, The MongolZ had given enough runaway to the Russian superstar to take control and Ancient was relatively easy close to the final for Spirit as they romped to a 13-5 win.
For Spirit and their new signing, zweih, it is back-to-back titles after their IEM Cologne 2025 win and Spirit are yet to drop a series with zweih in their lineup.
