eXTREMESLAND releases statement regarding prize money dispute between XO Esports and players
eXTREMESLAND puts out a statement for CS Asia Open Prize Money
After the conclusion of eXTREMESLAND 2024 CS Asia Open Grand final, that saw Team XO Esports including 0SAMAS, 0scar, Dodal, Polbandana, Senpai, and ViTaL win a prize money of $40k, a fallout happened between the org and the players.
According to eXTREMESLAND, but both XO Esports (the club) and the players claimed the right to decide how it should be split. Since they couldn’t agree, and the players refused to negotiate.
Using their authority under the rules, the organizer decided to divide the $40,000 equally among the six players. However, they clarified that this does not settle the dispute over who legally owns the rights to the prize money, which is up to the club and players to resolve themselves, possibly even through legal means.
