Skyesports CEGC CS2 registrations set to start today

The LAN is scheduled for November

Skyesports announced their next venture in Chennai- The Chennai Global Esports Championship. The event will also include Counter-Strike 2 and the tournament will feature teams from India, Southeast Asia and Europe. The Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai will host the LAN event on 7th, 8th and 9th November 2025. Teams can bag main event slots only through the open qualifiers and no invites are handed out.

The open-to-all qualifiers will take place across three regions- India, Southeast Asia and Europe. The top two teams from each of these qualifiers will head to the main event in Chennai. The registrations for these open qualifiers will begin today, stay tuned for the announcement!

Skyesports was initially set to host the third iteration of Masters this November with a $350,000 prize pool as per HLTV's calendar but the organizer has made no announcements about the tournament's additional details or the exact venue. Whether the event is still on the cards or binned is uncertain at the moment. The Counter-Strike 2 event at CEGC 2025 is expected to be a replacement for the previously announced Skyesports Masters 2025.

The tournament's last recorded reference came at Skyesports Souvenir 2025 when Skyesports' CEO spoke about Masters 2025 in a Dust2 India interview. When asked about Skyesports' infrastructural developments to enhance viewer experience at LANs, Shiva Nandy spoke about the team's strength and capabilities to execute tier-1 events and reiterated that "this year's Skyesports Masters event is going to be big."
