The MongolZ loses to NAVI in the semi-final

The MongolZ's run at ThunderPick World Championship 2025 ends in the semi-final

In their semi-final game yesterday at Thunderpick World Championship 2025, where The MongolZ faced Natus Vincere, the Mongolian team tasted defeat in a close series that took all three maps.

The Bo3 kicked off with both teams trading their opponent's map pick. First, NAVI secured Mirage despite a very slow start on the CT-side that netted them only five rounds. It took a 1.85 rated performance from iM to make the comeback happen and win 13-9.

Then, The MongolZ bagged Nuke after a strong CT-side that helped them go up by 9-3 at halftime. While Techno led the charts with a 1.53 rating, the 13-3 win should be attributed to a combined team effort with no loose ends on The MongolZ side.

On the decider Ancient, however, The MongolZ could only secure 5 rounds in the first half on the attacking side. It did prove to be enough, as they failed to replicate their CT dominance on Nuke, and ended up losing the map and series by a 13-10 margin.

The MongolZ have now slipped to #6 on Global VRS after this loss. They had earlier ascended to the #1 spot on 7th October. But a 9-11th finish at EPL, and now a semi-final exit at ThunderPick WC has caused this descent.
