BIG confirms gr1ks will miss Skyesports CEGC 2025; JBOEN to stand-in

Visa situation not resolved yet

A day after announcing that gr1ks hasn't been able to secure his visa to travel to Chennai, India for the Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship 2025, the German organisation has announced that gr1ks will not be present in Chennai. The Belarusian is yet to secure his visa and will be replaced by young Danish AWPer JBOEN for the Chennai LAN event.

BIG had previously stated that gr1ks and their coach xenn were both waiting on the Indian visa to attend the $49,000 LAN and earlier in the day BIG revealed that xenn had received his visa and is on his way to Chennai. BIG landed in Chennai earlier in the day and will be shortly joined by their coach but will play the event without their main AWPer.

JBOEN, who is part of the BIG Academy since September 2025, most recently played for the main team at DreamHack Knockout Atlanta 2025, where BIG finished second, going down to M80 in the final. JBOEN put up a 1.12 rating in the event and has played for Astralis Talent and Preasy previously.

With gr1ks unable to play in Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship 2025, the BIG lineup for the Chennai event is as follows:

  • tabseN

  • JDC

  • prosus

  • FreeZe

  • Denmark JBOEN
