4 Players from CS:GO's 1st Major head into StarLadder Budapest 2025
The second Counter-Strike Major of 2025 is just around the corner as teams gear up to a shot at the game's most prestigious title. Looking back, only four players who attended Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's first ever Major- DreamHack Winter 2013 are heading into the Budapest Major as active players. In a game known for rapidly changing metas and a new gen talent hitting the servers every other day, these four have stood the test of time, symbolizing longevity.
These four players are:
karrigan
apEX
device
KRIMZ
Everyone on the list is currently in their 30s, some gracefully and some kicking and screaming. apEX, the in-game leader of Vitality has leveraged the full potential of his guns at hand, terrorizing the tier-1 scene with the ZywOo-ropz duo. Add a world class opener flameZ in the mix and apEX's Vitality are poised for success. device on the other hand has hit a bumpy road with Astralis, playing with a new piece almost every other event.
karrigan on FaZe led the team to an explosive Counter-Strike 2 start, winning a handful of early events. FaZe narrowly missed out on the Major at Shanghai. Two-time Major winner KRIMZ just exists with Fnatic. The team's last notable LAN win came all the way back in 2019 at DreamHack Masters Malmö.
The StarLadder Budapest 2025 Major starts on Monday, 24th November 2025 with a Bo5 grand-final conclusion on 14th December 2025.
