Imperial punish The Huns' sloppiness to knock-out the last remaining Asian team
The only remaining Asian team at the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 Stage 1, The Huns, have been eliminated after a 0-2 loss to Imperial in their 1-2 bracket game. After putting up a strong performance against Lynn Vision the day before, it was a flat show from the Mongolian team, which sees them eliminated with a 1-3 record.
Despite taking the pistol and conversion on their own pick of Nuke, a sloppy T side saw Imperial go on a six-round streak to take a two round lead at the break. The Huns secured both pistols but a force buy win from Imperial propelled them to a 13-8 win with Bart4k's quad kill clutch being the only highlight for The Huns on a poor defensive hold.
It was a chaotic start to the Brazilian team's pick of Mirage saw a xerolte 1v2 including a knife kill give The Huns a couple of early T rounds but it was another strong defensive hold with some questionable and stupid plays from The Huns seeing Imperial go 9-3 up. Bart4k's crisp triple saw The Huns pick up the CT pistol. Two consecutive 3v5s seeing The Huns steal two rounds through straight up smoke defuses saw the Mongolians bring it down to a one round game.
Imperial fumbled on multiple occasions, letting The Huns win multiple man disadvantage situations that saw Mirage head to overtime. Imperial kept it clean in overtime to close Mirage at 16-12 with try's AWP closing out the map as try topped the scoreboard with 27 kills to see his team lock in a 2-0 win.
