Morningstar take down The Huns in ZHE-TECH Elite Masters opener

ZHI-TECH Elite Masters 2026 kicked off earlier today with The Huns taking on Morningstar. The best-of-three started on Dust2 and controlez's maiden main event outing with The Huns was not ideal to say the least. After winning the pistol and anti-eco on the CT-side, The Huns lost a flurry of rounds as Morningstar capitalized on every small mistake. Taking an 8-4 lead in the first half, pistol and anti-eco wins on the CT-side took Morningstar to double figures.

A late T-side resurgence from sk0R and nin9 kept The Huns in the game with a five-rounds streak but Morningstar's early lead pushed them across the line 13-9 to go 1-0 up in the series. The Huns put up a dominant T-side showing on their own map pick of Inferno, securing an 8-4 lead. sk0R and xerolte finished the half with 12 frags a piece with ADRs in excess of 90.

Following their CT-side pistol round win, The Huns fumbled the anti-eco as Morningstar put up six rounds on the trot, stealing the lead at 10-9. The Huns managed to claw back a couple of rounds but Morningstar's expSasiKi dragged the Chinese side across the line 13-11, to wrap the series 2-0 and advance further as The Huns bow out of the event.

Morningstar will either face FlyQuest or Chinggis Warriors in the first semi-final tomorrow at 12:30PM IST.
