PGL Cluj-Napoca to run every year until the end of 2029
During last night's PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 final day, the Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Emil Boc, announced that the Romanian city will host PGL events in 2027, 2028 and 2029, as part of an extended agreement with Cluj-Napoca and PGL.
The announcement was made through a post on Instagram and after two successful editions of the Cluj-Napoca event, the Romanian city will continue to host the best Counter-Strike teams in the world.
The city hosted their first event with the partnership with PGL in 2025 with MOUZ beating Falcons in the final to win PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025. Allthough the first year didn't have a host of top 10 teams, the 2026 edition has seen almost all the top 10 teams in the world take part with Vitality taking down PARIVISION in the final to win PGL Cluj Napoca 2026. PGL has already locked in February 13 - February 21, 2027 for their 2027 event and the February 09 - February 21, 2028 for their 2028 tournament.
More than a decade ago, DreamHack also held events in the city, with Envy winning the DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015, which was the third Major of the year.
