Counter-Strike returns to Spodek this October
The iconic Spodek Arena which hosted coveted IEM Katowice events for a long time, will host another ESL event starting this October. Last year, ESL announced that its IEM event would move to Krakow, leaving behind countless memories at Katowice's Spodek Arena. IEM Katowice was one of ESL's most prestigious event in a year alongside IEM Cologne.
The next iteration of ESL Pro League will run entirely on LAN in Katowice, Poland. The playoffs of Season 24 will take place on October 9th, 10th and 11th in the iconic Spodek Arena. Through a post on X, ESL has announced that the tickets for the same are set to go out on sale soon.
ESL Pro League Season 24 is also set to bring a major structural change to the event, moving towards a single stage approach. ESL Challenger League Season 51 winners from Asia, Europe, North and South America will join 12 teams from the Global VRS in a sixteen-team group stage. A Swiss system iteration will determine and place the top eight in a single-elimination best-of-three playoffs bracket.
