FUT wins first big trophy with PGL Bucharest 2026 triumph

FUT have won their first major trophy after beating Astralis in the final of the PGL Bucharest 2026. The BO5 final was dominated by FUT, who won the final with a 3-1 score line and didn't drop more than 5 rounds on the three maps they won. FUT's cmtry was announced as the MVP of the event while Astralis' wait for a major LAN trophy continues.

The final kicked off on Astralis' pick of Ancient but it looked anything but their map pick as cmtry's AWP took control on the CT side to go 8-4 up. A near flawless T side helped FUT race to a 13-5 win and draw first blood in the final. Moving to Mirage, it was the lauNX show on the T side as an incredible T side saw FUT pick apart Astralis to go 10-2 up before easing to a 13-5 win to go 2-0 up in the final.

It looked like the final would be done in three maps as FUT started Astralis' second pick of Nuke with another big lead, taking a four round lead on their CT side before Staehr and HooXi led the comeback on a strong CT side saw them push Nuke to overtime. Astralis managed to hold on for a 16-14 win with Staehr's 31 kill performance seeing Astralis stay alive in the final. After finding some momentum on Nuke, Astralis fell flat on Dust2 as another stellar T side from FUT saw them storm to a 13-3 win as dem0n's 25 kill and 2.57 rating show saw FUT close out the final in a commanding manner.

FUT's Ukrainian AWPer cmtry was revealed as the HLTV MVP after finishing the event with an impressive 1.24 rating.
