
AMD FragFest 2026 Qualifier 1: Recap
With the Indian Counter-Strike scene going comparatively quieter in 2026, AMD FragFest comes as the country's first notable LAN of the year. The event has kicked off today with the first open qualifier. The first of the four open qualifiers ran on LAN at Colosseum Esports, Bengaluru.
Lets take a quick look at how things went down.
Bengaluru Boys and The A-Team were handed byes in the first round of the qualifier as GullyBoys and Hextech did not show up for their matches on time.
cloud_9-1 and cloud_9-2 advance to the semi-finals

A couple of iterations of local cloud_9 rosters took stage in Round 1. cloud_9-1 took on Rogue Esports and emerged victorious with a comfortable 13-4 scoreline while their counterpart had sterner competition in the concluding game of Round 1. cloud_9-2 came face to face with ENDGAME who took the fought till the very end before conceding the match 10-13.

cloud_9-1 coming off of a 13-4 win in the opening round, were at the other end of the stick this time around. The A-Team were off to a 6-1 start on the CT-side of Anubis and managed to secure a 9-3 lead at halftime as Innocent and PUNLOHER dropped 14 frags a piece in the first half. The A-Team dropped just a single round in the second half to close Anubis 13-4 and advance to the grand-final.

cloud_9-2 one-upped their counterpart but in the wrong direction. They struggled on the T-side of Mirage opened their account eight rounds into the game at 8-1. BengaluruBoys did not lift their foot off the pedal as they closed Mirage 13-3 to send the second cloud_9 roster packing as well.

BengaluruBoys took on The A-Team in a best-of-three grand-final for a main event spot at AMD FragFest 2026. The series started on Overpass and BengaluruBoys were handed a 1-4 deficit with The A-Team's PUNLOHER putting up a 7-2 record in the first five rounds. However, BengaluruBoys did not drop a single round from that point, taking down The A-Team 13-4 on Overpass. The A-Team could not recover from their monumental collapse, suffering a 1-7 disadvantage on the CT-side of Mirage and eventually losing the map 7-13. BengaluruBoys posted a 2-0 series win in the grand-final and have confirmed their AMD FragFest 2026 main event spot
