CTRLPOINT Asia 2026 postponed

The tournament was supposed to take place this month

Earlier this year, ViderGG announced an Asian Counter-Strike venture- CTRLPOINT Asia 2026. The tournament was announced with a prize pool of $5,000 USD and would run completely online. The tournament was supposed to begin this month with the open qualifiers and follow up with the group stage and playoffs in the beginning of July 2026.

However, the tournament organizer took to X a couple of days announcing that the tournament was postponed to the fourth quarter of 2026 (October/November/December 2026). "The reason is simple: we run events we can stand fully behind", says the tournament organizer in their announcement and instead of using ambiguous language, CTRLPOINT mentions areas of concern due to which the tournament had to be pushed back.

We run events we can stand fully behind, fully funded, with prize money paid in full and on time. We'd rather take the time to meet that standard than rush a season that doesn't.
