Legacy Esports pips Grayfox Esports in 3-map thriller

Legacy Esports one game away from LAN berth

The upper bracket final of the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024 India Closed Qualifiers saw Legacy Esports, who had taken down Gods Reign on the opening day, go up against Grayfox Esports, who also had secured two BO3s win on the opening day.

Grayfox started Inferno with the pistol win on their CT side and went 4-0 up before Legacy found their first T round. Legacy though made sure it wasn't a one-sided half as it was kept to a two round half in Grayfox's favour at 7-5. Legacy evened out the pistols on Inferno and quickly tied up the scores early on in the second half. It was Legacy who turned it around and picked up Inferno at 13-10 with their foreign imports, Resoluxe and EeazyBoost once again carrying them to victory.

Mirage saw Legacy start on the T side with the pistol win. Following a back-and-forth opening half, Grayfox kept themselves alive as ghostxD and arakyN powered them to a 13-10 win to tie the series 1-1.

Grayfox got the series decider on Overpass underway with a 7-0 start. Following a dominant opening half from rite2ace and co. at 9-3, Legacy bounced back in the second half and saw off three-map and game points to take the map to overtime. Legacy Esports eventually made the whole comeback stick as L0ngBarrel's 38 kills saw them take Overpass at 16-14 to close out the series 2-1.

With the 2-1 series win, Legacy Esports now moves into the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024 India Closed Qualifier Grand Final. The Grand Final will be a BO5 final taking place on March 5, 2024 at 17:00 IST. Grayfox Esports meanwhile drops to the Lower Bracket final, where they will face the winner of the Gods Reign - True Ripper game.
