VP into IEM Chengdu 2024 Playoffs
After stunning Cloud9 on the opening day, FlyQuest took on Virtus.pro in the Group B upper bracket semi-final with a playoffs spot waiting for the winner.
Inferno was the opening map of the series and Virtus.pro started with a two-round lead on their own pick on the T side. The Australians fought back on their own T side and were the first to hit map point. Virtus.pro saw off two map points to push the map to overtime. Virtus.pro (VP) eventually closed it out at 16-14 to avoid any sort of upset.
FlyQuest began their pick of Vertigo with a massive 11-1 lead on the CT side. VP started with their CT-sided pistol and went on a ten-round streak to tie up the score. After losing ten straight rounds, FlyQuest pipped VP with two B hits that saw them hang on for a 13-11 win.
Ancient was the decider where VP started their T side with a 8-4 lead and fame's quad in the second half pistol saw VP further extend their lead. VP eventually wrapped it up at 13-7 to take a 2-0 series win.
The win sees VP book their place in the Playoffs of IEM Chengdu 2024 while FlyQuest drops to the lower bracket.
