Gods Reign wins NESC 2024 CS2

Impressive comeback from Bhavi and co.

After making their way through the Lower Bracket Final against Grayfox Esports, True Rippers were up against Gods Reign in the Grand Final of the National Esports Championship (NESC) 2024 CS2 with DEFAULTER and co. looking to set the score straight against Bhavi's boys who had taken them down in the semi-final.

True Rippers started the opening map of Ancient with the T-sided pistol and were up 7-2 in no time with Mcg!LLzZz starting strong and opening up sites with ease. DEAULTER and his boys went 9-3 up before switching sides and raced to a 12-5 lead. Gods Reign, mainly thanks to Ph1NNN and R2B2's firepower kept themselves alive in the game but it was True Rippers making sure there was no comeback as they secured Ancient 13-10 with Mcg!LLzZz on top of the scoresheet with 21 kills.

Inferno saw Gods Reign's T side get things underway but True Rippers were on the board as soon as they brought out the guns. Gods Reign salvaged the half to go 7-5 up as f1redup came in with a couple of crucial multi-kill rounds and clutches to keep Gods Reign afloat. True Rippers' T-sided pistol win propelled them to go 10-7 up before Gods Reign finally got their defensive half going. Gods Reign quickly retook the lead at 11-10 with Bhavi, who had a horrendous Ancient, finally stepping with crucial multi-kill rounds on both sites.

R2B2's crucial 1v1 clutch against Crazy_Gamer saw Gods Reign get to map point after True Rippers almost made an upgraded pistol buy work and turning around a 2v4. reV3nnnn with the Big Green on one hand and Tec-9 on one closed things out for Gods Reign as they kept themselves alive in the series with a 13-10 win.

Gods Reign started the series decider on Nuke with a 6-0 lead on their CT-side as R2B2 started strong. Bhavi showcased why he is given the reigns of the team as he came in with an intuitive 1v1 clutch against the former Gods Reign captain, Crazy_Gamer, nading him out to secure an eighth for the CTs. After securing the second half pistol, picking up both pistols on the series decider, Gods Reign were up to double digits in no time and closed it out at 13-6 with R2B2 dropping 22 kills in 19 rounds on the decider to help Gods Reign reverse-sweep True Rippers 2-1 in the Grand Final.

With the win the NESC 2024, Gods Reign will now take on other teams from different Asian countries in the Regional qualifiers, representing India, as they will aim to book their berth in Riyadh.
