THE MONGOLZ WINS YALLA COMPASS 2024
The Grand Final of the YaLLa Compass 2024 saw The MongolZ taking on Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) with the Asian team looking to make it back-to-back LAN titles.
NIP started the series opener on Ancient with a strong T side, going 5-1 up in no time. NIP punished a sloppy defence from The Mongolz to go 9-3 up. The MongolZ fought back on their T side, picking up a much needed pistol and went on to tie up the game at 11-11. mzinho's double opener on the A-site, turning around a 4v5 saw The MongolZ hit map point first but NIP held on to send the map to overtime. It was flawless from NIP in overtime as they started the final with a 16-12 win.
The MongolZ started Mirage with a 6-0 lead on their T side and it looked like they would run away with the half but NIP salvaged the half with at least four rounds. A clinical CT side saw The MongolZ wrap up Mirage at 13-7. Nuke, the series decider saw The MongolZ start strong again and they went 7-5 up with Senzu and mzinho having impactful rounds. The second half pistol and conversions against the force and eco saw The MongolZ quickly hit double digits before an isak 1v2 on the lower site saw NIP get on board.
One rounds was all that NIP could manage on their T side as a stellar defensive half from The MongolZ saw the lock in Nuke at 13-6 to reverse sweep the series 2-1 and pick up the YaLLa Compass 2024 title.
The YaLLa Compass 2024 title makes it back-to-back LAN titles for bLitz and co., following their MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2024 triumph at home just a couple of weeks ago.
