The MongolZ turn it around to lock in IEM Cologne 2024 Group Stage spot
The MongolZ have locked in their place at the IEM Cologne 2024 Group Stages following a big comeback against Eternal Fire at the Play-In lower bracket round 2 game, completing the lower bracket run after suffering a loss to SAW on the opening day. The Turkish team meanwhile, will be heading home after their loss toe bLitz and co.
The series opener was the Turkish squad's pick of Anubis which was a non-started for the Asian team as woxic and Wicadia powered Eternal Fire to a commanding 13-4 win. A third map locked like a certainty as The MongolZ started their pick of Mirage with a big 7-0 lead before Eternal Fire salvaged the half with four. A promising start to their T side gave the Turkish squad a bit of hope for a comeback but The MongolZ weren't entertaining any of that, closing it out at 13-8 on a pistol buy,

The series decider, Nuke, started with Eternal Fire's eight-round defensive half to start things off before The MongolZ's force buy after losing the second pistol saw them tie up the score at 10-10. Senzu's solid defensive hold led the comeback for The MongolZ as the map moved to overtime. It was back-and-forth again but they hung on for a 16-14 win after being 4-9 down.
