C4 explosion now interacts with smokes
In the post-Major update, Valve completely reworked the C4 explosion adding a new shockwave that followed the explosion, dealing damaging as it spreads. The almost nuke-like aftershock dealt a minimum damage of 1HP across the map but was soon removed to allow players with 1HP to survive.
In a follow-up update, Valve has further modified the shockwave which now interacts with smokes and molotov/incendiary flames across the map. Once the shockwave hits an active smoke grenade, the disturbance blows the smoke open while fire is completely put out. This opens up new avenues for end-round plays on both sides.
The HUD also received a quality of life upgrade in the post-Major update, showing the amount of damage a player takes from the C4 in their current position. However, this too came with a drawback. CTs could now determine the active bombsite even before hearing the C4's beeping sound from the health bar's blinks. In the recent update Valve modified the feature to only activate when a player is within the audible range of the active bombsite.
