BESTIA set to miss out on maiden Major appearance at Austin

About a month ago, BESTA went into the BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major's South American Regional Qualifier (SA MRQ), aiming for one of South America's three Major slots. After their opening round loss to Fluxo, BESTIA put up an impressive MRQ run in the lower-bracket and the third place decider, clearing the MRQ without dropping a single map thereafter.

The Argentinian side had booked their maiden Major appearance and every single player in the team would be taking stage at the Major for the first time ever. As poetic as it sounded, it just wasn't to be. BESTIA's Major campaign was plagued with visa issues and their attendance at the Major started getting uncertain.

luchov and tomaszin, two of BESTIA's players have had their visa applications rejected repeatedly but the organization's CEO Alejandro "PapoMC" Lococo claimed that he had received confirmations that these two would receive their visas by Monday. BLAST reached out to BESTIA informing them that their slot at the Major would be handed out to Legacy, the next in line from the South American MRQ.

The deadline for providing necessary documentation including visas was set for 21st May 2025 by BLAST. "We received an email from BLAST saying we'd be replaced by Legacy, whom we easily beat in the MRQ, and that they'd announce it in a few minutes. I'm asking everyone to make one last effort. Help me stop this injustice, and next week, Bestia will be representing Argentina at the Major." said Lococo in his post on X.

While a big part of the community stood with BESTIA and supported their case, a few criticized the org for not meeting set deadlines. Shortly after, the final confirmation came from BLAST through a post on X, confirming that BESTIA would miss out on the Major and their slot would go to Legacy.

With the hashtag "#ArgentinaAlMundial" many prominent names in the Counter-Strike scene came forward and voiced out their support for BESTIA, mentioning how they bagged a Major slot fair and square but were about to get robbed of it. "I did a spanish tweet before, but it’s a dream for any counter strike player to play at a major. These guys have VISA issues and they are asking for help, retweet please." said Vitality's captain apEX on X.
