The MongolZ to start IEM Dallas 2025 Playoffs in the quarter-final after Vitality loss
Vitality continued to extend their incredible win streak as they took down The MongolZ 2-1 in the Group A upper bracket final at IEM Dallas 2025, which was effectively a seeding game for the Playoffs. The win has Vitality move directly into the semi-finals while The MongolZ, who have also made Playoffs, will start from the quarter-finals.
A B hit saw The MongolZ take the opening pistol on their pick of Inferno but the MP9s of Vitality answered back with the force buy to take the lead early on before a chaotic B hit once again saw The MongolZ get their second on the board. Barring those two B hits, The MongolZ looked like they would find nothing else but it was Senzu's Deagle and another B hit that saw bLitz and co. end with four T rounds.
Despite losing the second half pistol and the conversions, The MongolZ put up a commendable fight on their CT half once they brought out the guns but Vitality proved to be too strong at apEX and co. closed Inferno at 13-10.
The MongolZ somehow hung on to not let ZywOo and ropz steal a 2v4 as they picked up the CT pistol on Vitality's pick of Nuke. The MongolZ raced away to a 7-0 start before Vitality salvaged the half with four consecutive rounds to end the half at 8-4 in favour of The MongolZ. The MongolZ picked up both pistols on Nuke as a dominant performance from Asia's best saw them hand Vitality a massive 13-7 beating to push the series to Mirage.
The MongolZ once again started strong, as the T side pistol on the decider on Mirage saw them go 5-1 up before Vitality's defence kept it to a two-round half with The MongolZ finishing with 7 on their T side. Vitality's T side pistol win kicked off a tight second half which saw The MongolZ pull off a couple of close retakes that helped them hit double digits first. Despite their best efforts, it was Vitality's experience and resilience that saw apEX and his boys walk away with a 13-11 win to win a hard fought series 2-1.
