FURIA feel the pain in the Brazilian derby
Like the first quarter-final, the second one at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 between the two Brazilian teams, FURIA and paiN was another three map thriller which saw another reverse sweep determine the result. After getting comprehensively beaten on their map pick, paiN fought back heroically to not only make the semi-finals but also send their compatriots home and have the last laugh in the battle of Brazil's top teams.
molodoy's AWP took early control on FURIA's CT side that saw FalleN and his boys take a four round lead and despite paiN picking up the final two rounds of the opening half and the pistol and quick force buy B hit put the nail in the coffin for paiN. FURIA picked up their opponent's pick at 13-6. paiN hit back instantly as they fought for their Major lives with everything which saw massive clutches from da1deuS put paiN 9-3 up on their T side on FURIA's pick of Anubis. FURIA tried to put up a comeback but paiN held on 13-8 win to tie the series 1-1.

The series decider, Inferno, kicked off with FalleN and YEKINDAR shutting down Banana for paiN early on. FURIA's six round streak to kick of Inferno came to an end thanks to an nqz lurk which got paiN's T side on the board. Late resurgence from paiN saw a couple of B hits help them keep FURIA's lead to only two. Despite the second pistol loss, a force buy win paved the way from a stunning CT side from paiN which saw them turn things around and hit match point first. FURIA, led by FalleN, held on against four match points to push Inferno to overtime.
A flawless CT half in first overtime saw paiN race away to a 16-12 win to finally close the series and reverse sweep their way into the semi-finals of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025.
