The MongolZ get past their stage demons to send s1mple and co. home
Creating history for the Asian region, The MongolZ have take down s1mple and FaZe in the final quarter-final match of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. The MongolZ are the fourth and final team to make the semi-finals and will take on paiN in their top four game. For FaZe it is a 5th-8th place finish with their all-in attempt to bring in s1mple for the Major not quite working out like they would've wanted to.
The MongolZ's pick of Mirage was a brawl to get things underway as it was karrigan keeping FaZe in the game with a six round CT half. The second half pistol saw The MongolZ race away to hit map point first at 12-6 before s1mple's AWP finally found impact to get FaZe's T side going. A mid brawl saw The MongolZ overrun FaZe to close Mirage at 13-9 to draw first blood in the quarter-final.
Despite a disappointing end to Mirage, FaZe came out with confidence on their pick of Anubis with s1mple's shotgun making frequent appearances in the kill feed and it was an incredible EliGE 1v2 to close out a 7-5 half for FaZe. The MongolZ picked up a clean pistol and like Mirage despite a late comeback attempt from FaZe with EliGE trying his level best, it was The MongolZ holding on for a 13-11 win to seal the series 2-0.
The MongolZ making the semi-finals of the Austin Major 2025 also has them creating history, becoming the first-ever Asian team to make the semi-finals of a Counter-Strike Major.
