
FISSURE Playground 1: Preview
FISSURE's inaugural playground event is all set to begin tomorrow. The week-long LAN in Belgrade, Serbia carries a prize pool of $1,000,000 USD and starts with sixteen teams split across four groups.
The groups and opening matchups for FISSURE Playground 1 were announced last week. Three Asian teams are in the mix, with Lynn Vision and Rare Atom finding themself in group B. TYLOO gets placed in a fiery Group C alongside Astralis, Virtus.pro and MIBR. TYLOO will face Group C's top seed, Virtus.pro in their opening match.
In group B, Lynn Vision will take on 3DMAX and Rare Atom will face paIN in their opening games. A double elimination format across four groups will send the top two teams from each group into an eight-team single-elimination bracket playoffs. All games are set to run bo3 settings and the tournament will conclude with a bo5 grand-final.
Consisting of four teams, each group hosts a double-elimination bo3 bracket, sending the top two teams into the playoffs. Eight teams face off in the single-elimination bracket playoffs, concluding with a bo5 grand-final. FISSURE Playground 1 comes as the first high profile LAN after the player break and will be closely followed to see how some of these teams fare with their recent roster changes.
