Over $490,000 USD losses reported from last week's case opening frenzy

Last week, several streamers bought old sticker capsules and cases worth thousands of dollars in bulk to open them live on stream. OhnePixel, ArrowCS, Nadeshot, TimTheTatMan, TDMJesus and Sparkles were among the gathering that lined up to open sticker capsules and cases over the weekend. OhnePixel alone was rumored to have bought over $240,000 USD worth of sticker capsules to open.

As per reports compiled by community members @RemixFloats and @salii_b, these streamers have opened cases worth ~$500,000 USD combined and have made as little as $100,000 to $120,000 USD combined, with estimated losses climbing up to a whopping -83%. Nadeshot's loss topped the charts, getting back ~9,300 USD worth of Counter-Strike cosmetics from ~$95,000 USD worth of cases and sticker capsules.

While a portion of the community criticized the "hobby" on social media, some claimed that the streamers suffered no losses as these cases were gifted to them by Megladoon, an alleged billionaire and a popular figure in the Counter-Strike community with a massive inventory.
