BLAST Rising qualifiers format changed

BLAST have changed the qualifier format for their BLAST Rising event. The BLAST Rising qualifiers will no longer host a closed qualifier, instead it provides open qualifiers with a direct path into the regional final. "No more closed qualifiers – open-entry from start to finish.", says BLAST in their blogpost.

In the new format, eight teams take part in the regional final, four of which are invited through regional VRS and four more make their way through open qualifiers. The regional final will run single-elimination brackets across all regions. ESN hosts the Asian side of things with the open qualifiers taking place today. Winners from Mongolian, Chinese, Rest of Asian and Oceanic open qualifiers will secure their BLAST Rising Asia Final spots.

The four invitees for the regional finals are based on Valve Regional Standings positions as of yesterday, 14th July 2025. The Asia Rising Final will be the only LAN at the regional level. ESN is set to host the LAN in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia starting on 1st August 2025. The winner of this LAN heads to the BLAST Open Fall 2025 closed qualifier.
