Rare Atom crash out of FISSURE Playground 1
Having lost their opening match against Brazilian team paIN, Rare Atom geared up to face 3DMAX who were coming into the matchup with an opening round loss against Lynn Vision. Group B's elimination match started on 3DMAX's pick, Dust2 where the French side started on the T-side with a 2-6 deficit after fumbling the anti-eco, following a pistol win. A four rounds streak towards the end, saw 3DMAX tie the half at 6-6.
A rinse and repeat second half saw 3DMAX win the pistol and drop the anti-eco again but this time Rare Atom sprinted to match point at 12-7 off of ChildKing's T-side brilliance. 3DMAX however, recovered at the last possible moment, closing the five rounds buffer to push Dust2 into overtime. After T-side sweeps from both teams in the first overtime, 3DMAX destroyed Rare Atom with a 4-0 in the second overtime, taking Dust2 19-15, to go 1-0 up in the series.
Rare Atom were blown away on their own map pick of Ancient. Starting on the T-side, Rare Atom struggled to find their footing as 3DMAX reached double figures without dropping a single round. Ex3rcice and Graviti's 2+ rating CT-side at ADRs of 154 and 122, netted 3DMAX a colossal 11-1 CT-half on Ancient. 3DMAX swept the second half with pistol and anti-eco wins, closing Ancient 13-1 and wrapping the series 2-0 as the Chinese side crashed out of FISSURE Playground 1 without winning a single map across two bo3s.
