FlyQuest escape late scrap to stay alive in Cologne
jks has his first win with FlyQuest as the Australian team beat B8 in their IEM Cologne 2025 lower bracket game to not only stay alive in Cologne but send their opponents home.
Dust2 kicked off with B8 closing out their CT half with 7 in a row and having locked in both pistols, it looked like B8 would ease to a win on FlyQuest' pick but regali's AWP found form on the CT side which saw FlyQuest hang on for a 13-10 win. On B8's pick of Mirage, the Ukrainian team started with a two round advantage and despite FlyQuest racing away with the T side it was npl keeping B8 alive as he pulled B8 across the line at 13-11 after picking up a late low buy round to tie up the series.
Late activation from npl and esenthial saw B8 take an 8-4 lead on the decider on Inferno on their T side but FlyQuest tied up the score instantly after a nettik quad kill in the second half pistol saw the Australian team get their T side going. A back and forth second half saw regali's AWP take control late on and FlyQuest had it locked in, in regulation but esenthial with a 1v3 in the final round of regulation pushed it to overtime.
FlyQuest lost all the momentum in first overtime as B8 were all but set to close it in overtime but it was Vexite this time with a 1v3 of his own that made sure FlyQuest fought on as it went to double overtime. The Australian team managed to close it in second overtime at 19-16 to take the series 2-1 and avoid an early exit from Cologne.
FlyQuest's win sees the Australian team fight on in Cologne and FlyQuest takes on the loser of the FaZe - Liquid game in their lower bracket round 2 matchup next.
