The MongolZ first team to make LANXESS arena at IEM Cologne 2025
The MongolZ have confirmed their Playoffs at IEM Cologne 2025 with bLitz and co. becoming the first team to book their place at the LANXESS arena. Their advancement to Playoffs comes after their 2-0 win over NiKo and co.'s Falcons in the Group A upper bracket semi-final.
The MongolZ kicked off Falcons' Dust2 with a big CT half and it was bLitz's 1v4 in the first gun round in the second half that had the Austin Major 2025 runners up go 12-4 up. Falcons showed some late fight with kyousuke stepping up but it was a bit too late as The MongolZ closed it at 13-9. Mirage saw Falcons get things going on a better note with Falcons managing a total of five CT rounds.
Falcons had the chance to tie up the game after TeSeS and kyousuke handed them a second half pistol win but Senzu's Deagle saw The MongolZ answer with the force buy. 910's AWP made sure that there was no scope for the Falcons to produce a comeback as The MongolZ closed their map pick at 13-9 to seal a comfortable 2-0 series win.
The MongolZ will take on the winner of the Vitality - G2 game next as they will look to book a direct spot in the semi-finals. The Falcons now drop to the lower bracket where they will have to battle against the winner of the Astralis - FURIA game to keep their LANXESS arena hopes alive.
