The MongolZ fall to Vitality once again
The MongolZ were blown away by Vitality in the IEM Cologne 2025 Playoffs seeding game as the Asian team were unable to turn up against apEX and co. in a rematch of the Austin Major 2025 Grand Final. The loss sees The MongolZ move to the quarter-final while Vitality sailed into the semi-finals.
The series kicked off on The MongolZ's pick of Mirage, which was a non-starter for bLitz and co. Aside from their T side pistol and conversions, The MongolZ won nothing as ZywOo's 23 kill, 1.93 rating performance saw them sail to a 13-5 win. Inferno started in a similar manner with Vitality running away before some late rounds on their CT side saw The MongolZ keep Vitality's lead to two.
A pistol win raised hopes of a comeback attempt and despite a conversion, The MongolZ lost all their guns in an ill-judged hunting attempt that left them with a poor buy in the first gun round. ZywOo's quad put Vitality on way to another comfortable 13-8 win which saw the reigning Major champions lock in a comfortable 2-0 series win.
